Slippery Rock Area Parks & Recreation is looking for volunteers to assist with the Father and Daughter Valentine’s Day Dance on February 7. This special evening brings families together from Slippery Rock and surrounding communities for a fun and memorable event. Volunteers should plan to be available between 5pm – 9pm to assist with event setup, support during the dance, and cleanup afterward.
Volunteer responsibilities include:
- Setting up for the dance: Decorations, snacks, photo area, gymnasium (decorations, balloons (many, many balloons)), craft area.
- Checking in families that have pre-registered, or taking registrations at the door night of.
- During event, maintaining snack and craft area to ensure that they are fully stocked until the end of the night. In the gymnasium, making sure the area stays clean and appropriate.
- After the event is complete, and possibly towards the end of the night, any garbage, decorations, materials, or any items of the park’s will need to be cleaned up. The clean up is way faster than the setup and should only take 30-45 minutes after the event is over.
At SRPR, we require volunteers have the PA child clearances; PA Child Abuse, PA State Criminal Background Check, FBI Fingerprints, 3 Hour Mandated Reporter Training.
